Picture This
✔️You wake up in the morning with the kind of leisurely time you want, and not panicking about student requests.
✔️You take a holiday because you want some fun and not because you need to escape from the daily grind
✔️You have a vision for your time on earth that means your career is aligned with that and without burnout
✔️You feel free to live where you want, close to family and friends
✔️You take a holiday without curating emails because you don't want to come back to too much work
✔️You were able to live free of judgment about what "success" looks like, able to do what fulfills you
✔️Your career aligns with your values, without having to work more hours, get more qualifications, or earn less
✔️You have a career that absolutely lights you up, challenges you, and makes you feel you're making a contribution - making the world a better, more sustainable place.
This is where you can be in a short amount of time with a coach to guide you.
On your own, you can get stuck or frustrated with the time it takes. Many tell me they've spent 18 months trying to find clarity.
Without clarity, these same people are putting in 100s of applications without many interviews.
This does not have to be your reality
How can I help?
It's not just translating your skills, but a full audit of all of your strengths, even those you forgot!
It's not just identifying your talents, but a vision for what skills you want to use and what impact you can make once they are fully actualized!
It's not just about understanding your worth, but selling it across different contexts and in a way that resonates with industry and potential clients!
It's not just a plan for how many applications to submit, but a strategy for which jobs are likely to align with what you want out of life. This is empowerment!
Are you unsure what your next step should be in pivoting your career?
Most of my clients come to me with low confidence, feeling like an imposter, thinking they need more degrees (even though they all have advanced degrees!).
You may be there too...
Not knowing what your values are...
Not being aware of your strengths and superpowers means you throw applications at the wall hoping something will stick.
You look to see how translating skills for various job markets might allow you to slot in somewhere, but you feel like a misfit.
And you bounce from job to job because they weren’t what you thought they were.
Or they didn’t fulfil you because they didn’t align with your values.
Or they didn't intellectually challenge you, or even pay what you know you're worth!
What's next then?
If you're lost, then just take this quiz, created from the vast experiences I have with 100s of clients who are right where you are in the process!
Why you should work with me
I'm an applied social scientist (with a PhD in applied psychology) with over 20 years' in higher education and 8 years in coaching academics to industry success.
In coaching, I use psychological methods along with a systemic lens so you can find your confidence and believe in your ability to create the career you want without losing sight of the things you hold dearest.
Many of my clients want to reignite their passion for the impact they want to have, allowing them to find their vision, make more money than in academia, and have a work/life balance that is not predicated on blaming people for their lack of "self-care".
I use a radical process of empathetic understanding that is based on feminist theories and practices based on fighting oppression. With a socio-contextual lens, based on years of research evidence, together we uncover and acknowledge the structural barriers as well as personal barriers to success.

What you can expect from me

Empathy - I will listen to your story and help you find your strengths.
Authenticity - I will bring my extensive experience to our
sessions and I am happy to be as honest and vulnerable to show how I've evolved and adapted. This may help you find who you are and who you want to be
Trust - I will trust you to do the hard work and to be honest with me about what you need. Likewise, I will deliver some hard truths to you. These are not meant to criticize but to challenge you to see your situation from different angles. Sometimes perspective shifts can illuminate what needs to be prioritized.
Justice - I bring a social justice lens to all I do. This may mean that I help you recognise that systems play a role in who you are and the challenges you've faced. Our go-to ways of reacting have been primed
by experiences. They are not our fault but we can control how we react to them.
